I've now bought a replacement bumper for my 996 and did a test fitting this evening to check how it lines up with the bodywork.
The main problem is that the exhaust pipes don't line up with the holes in the bumper.
In order to fit the bumper I needed to remove the exhaust tips so that they weren't blocking the space. Once the bumper is sprayed and ready to finally fit I'll need to get the pipes adjusted to match the bumper.
