Porsche 911 (996 2001 model Carrera 2) For Sale - Kent UK

NOW SOLD - Update on 12 months ownership costs for a Porsche 911 coming shortly...

This blog was setup to document life with my 911, sadly that journey is coming to an end and my Porsche 996 is now up for sale for £10,495.

If you are interested in viewing the car please get in touch. Details are below

Porsche 911(996) Carrera 2 Manual, Y registration/March 2001 with full service history supported by receipts and all old MOTs.

MOT till Oct 2014, taxed to end Aug 2014

This is the rarer manual version of the Porsche 911 and is the 2 door coupe with fully documented history. Litronic Xenon headlights, electric sunroof, climate control air conditioning, electric windows/mirrors, black leather Porsche crested embossed GT3 seats, Porsche M030 Sports suspension, Oettle mufflers, Sport Design GT3 Split Rim 18" alloy wheels (refurbished by Excel Wheels), Geo setup by Tognola Engineering after suspension replaced, all 4 tyres have good tread. Original CR22 radio with 6 CD multichanger in boot. You can hear the sound of the Oettle exhaust here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PiM1P6X9mFY

Full Service History, mainly from Official Porsche dealers, with all service receipts since 2001 and all old MOTs. Most recent service by Porsche Centre Tonbridge at 99,000 miles in March 2014. Work carried out over last few years includes window regulators, suspension replacement, complete exhaust and air conditioning condensers.

Excellent condition inside and out with very clean bodywork without any dents or marks and black leather seats are unmarked. The car is being shown at the Supercar Siege at Leeds Castle on the Porsche 911 UK club stand.

I was looking for a 996 for a long time before I found this and I think it is one of the best examples of a 996.1 out there with very comprehensive history and great condition. Unlike some 911s, the 996 version apparently is less prone to the common issues when used more. Higher mileage examples can avoid some of the problems such as IMS failure which are actually much less of an issue on the 3.4 engine anyway.Understanding IMS on Porsche 996

The 911 is surprisingly practical, we travelled to Germany in the 911 for a long weekend with 2 kids (age 12/14) and luggage. We averaged over 30mpg on the journey which included stretches on the autobahn.
If you are considering a Porsche 911 but think it will be too expensive to insure - then think again! As a 40 year old the best quote I had was £270! That's cheaper than my diesel hatchback and the car tax is only £280 as well!

    1. Thanks. Unfortunately I've developed arthritis in my left side, knee and foot which means changing gear starts to be painful in a manual. You can see from the mileage how little I'm now able to use the Porsche so I really can't justify having that value car sat in garage not being used.
