The centre caps on my Porsche 944 were in pretty poor condition but when my wheels went to be refurbished the company were unable to do the caps too.
Originally I was looking to replace them but decided I had nothing to lose by trying to clean & restore them myself.
Amazingly when I'd applied Nitro Mors paint stripper to the caps and removed the multiple layers of old paint there was a huge amount of detail on the caps as can be seen below:
The level of detail in the centre cap was exceptional and had all been hidden by the layers of paint. Once cleaned I'm intending to polish the aluminium and use the caps as they are rather than applying more paint to them.
