Removing the indicators from the Porsche 996 (and also Porsche Boxster 986 model) is an easy job as they just unclip, unplug and can be taken out in a few seconds.
Having unclipped the indicator from the bodywork there is a spring that covers the electrical plug. Push that out of the way with a flat head screwdriver and the indicator then comes away from the car completely.
